Back on Track!

It took taking a week off from work, but I accomplished something around the house; we (Andy) had replaced the original baseboards with white, leaving the door facings the dark, shiny wood a while back. I finally had the time to get the facings in the three "finished" rooms painted to match. I still have some touch up to do (I manage to paint the walls even with the painter's tape!), but the rooms are looking brighter and more modern. Yeah for progress! Now I just need to get the curtains for the laundry room done this week and it will officially be a success!

Laundry Room & Kitchen
Half curtains here as well as matching ones under the left cabinet to hide the cat box.

I still need to get the swinging doors sanded and painted, but that can wait.

Things feel a little bigger and more open now.

Running Out of Steam

It finally happened; after a year and 3 months of going nonstop we finally lost our momentum! There is one more cabinet in the laundry room to be painted and hung and then that room will be done. Andy just isn't feeling well this week so far. The garden spot is ready to be re-tilled to plant lettuces. The roto-tiller is out of commission. I finally got the shelf out of the way and picture frames on the wall in the living room last weekend; half are still empty. There are limbs in the yard from last week's storm. We simply dragged the big one out of the driveway the day after and called it good. Think we need a break?  :)

I will be taking the next two weeks off from dream home duties until my staycation, which will be jam packed of much needed baseboard and door frame painting, wallpaper peeling, and carpet removal. Andy will be taking a break probably until it is warm enough to replace the wood siding out front and re-stain everything an actual taupe and not peach. Since he starts a new job next week in which Saturdays are required I guess that means I am on yard clean-up duty as well! And the pictures, I seem to be averaging one every two or three days, so I guess I'll be done with that by the end of next week.

Happy Soon to be Spring Everybody!
