Nursery, Part II

Andy's been hard at work the past few weeks in the nursery. So far he has run wiring for a new can light, track lighting, cable, and replaced all the outlets in the room.

He has also installed said can light. He had the room ready to primer and paint and I was still debating on colors. We finally managed to narrow it down and I went with Olympic colors Blue Shamrock and Peach Surprise. It is really hard to pick out colors before you know the gender!

Luckily, the theme was a little easier; we will be decorating the nursery with Beatrix Potter's artwork. The characters the decorations focus on as well as curtain fabric and a few other details are still dependent on the gender, but at least we settled on wall colors.

Andy painted the walls last week and he and his dad got the flooring down Saturday evening.

So here is where we're at in the room now...

The crib will be on this wall, with track lighting shining on artwork above.

Now all that is left is painting the bedroom door and frame (started), installing hardware, trim, door facings, and baseboards, ceiling fan, light fixture... oh, and building the crib and changing station, as well as all the finishing touches.

Most of that will have to wait though; as soon as the trim work and lighting is done (and funds are set aside) we will be moving our stuff in and our bedroom will be getting the once over as well. Fingers crossed we'll be back in our room and the nursery will be mostly ready by August!
